Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Action Bridge for Practitioners
Communication is a fundamental human right, and this Action Bridge is designed to help equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively support autistic learners with complex communication needs.
Drawing from the comprehensive framework presented in Chapter 11 of Promoting Language for Learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder, we will delve into the crucial components of designing and implementing precise, individualized AAC interventions. We'll explore the importance of interprofessional collaboration between behavior analysts and speech-language pathologists, ensuring a holistic and effective approach.
Throughout this Action Bridge, you will gain insights into tailoring AAC modalities and instructional practices to each learner's unique skill set. To help you translate theory into practice, you'll have access to practical tools like the IPC (Interprofessional Collaboration) Planning Tool and the Verbal Operant Tool, complete with explanations on how to use them. You'll also get ongoing support with access to the Bridgify Community to connect with peers and free Small Group Office Hours on Mondays at 6pm CST with Dr. Lilith M. Reuter-Yuill.
We're excited for you to join us and put theory into practice in Bridgify's AAC Action Bridge for Practitioners.
